Who Runs Taxis in Fujairah?
Taxis in Fujairah come under the Fujairah Transport Corporation (FTC), the emirate's own transport body, and the franchise it names in public is Platinum Taxi. FTC awarded Platinum a franchise for 200 taxis; the company began driving in Fujairah on 1 April 2021, reports 150 cars on the road, and fits its Toyota Camry and Corolla hybrids with electronic meters. It also runs divisions in Ajman and Abu Dhabi.
Fujairah International Airport's taxi page confirms it: Platinum is the FTC franchise serving the terminal, with taxis available 24 hours a day to anywhere in the emirate. Visitors from Dubai should note that Fujairah sits outside the reach of Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority, so neither the RTA tariff nor the RTA call centre on 800 90 90 covers a Fujairah cab.

Is Cars Taxi Still Running in Fujairah?
Cars Taxi once ran Fujairah's taxis, but nothing official confirms that it still does in 2026. In June 2007 Khaleej Times reported that Cars Company, managed by Ahmed Al Ghurair, would put 30 taxis on Fujairah's roads as the first phase of a planned 1,300-car fleet. By October the paper was printing residents' complaints about fares under the new "Cars" franchise.
That company now trades as Kabi in Dubai, and our page on how Cars Taxi became Kabi covers the rename and the purple roofs. Al Ghurair's mobility page describes the Kabi fleet without naming Fujairah, and the airport's 2026 taxi page mentions only Platinum. Directory websites still list a "Cars Taxi" office in Al Hayl with phone numbers that no official or company page confirms, so we have not reprinted them. If a Cars or Kabi car does pick you up in Fujairah, keep the receipt with its taxi number.
How Do You Book a Taxi in Fujairah?
The quickest route is the Careem app, where the local fleet appears as a Fujairah Taxi option run by Hala. There are three dependable ways to get a car:
- Careem app. Hala, the joint venture between Careem and Dubai's RTA, launched in Fujairah in November 2025 in partnership with FTC, after a pilot that put Fujairah and Dibba taxis on the Careem app. Tap Fujairah Taxi, enter your destination, check the fare estimate and confirm; pay by cash, card, Careem Pay or Apple Pay, and watch the driver's name, plate and position in the app. Our guide to how Hala works inside the Careem app covers the booking screens and promo codes.
- Phone Platinum Taxi. The Fujairah helpline is 09 222 5455, or +971 9 222 5455 from a foreign SIM.
- The airport rank. Taxis wait outside Fujairah International Airport around the clock, no booking needed.
Fujairah Taxi Numbers and Contacts
FTC does not publish a dispatch line for the whole emirate, so the number to keep is the franchise's own. The other lines below matter because several east coast towns belong to Sharjah, where the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) runs the taxis.
How Much Does a Taxi Cost in Fujairah?
You pay what the meter shows, and the only Fujairah fare figure published by an official source is the AED 11 starting fare for taxis leaving the airport. Platinum states that its trips run by meter only. FTC posts no tariff online, and the per-kilometre rates on travel blogs and fare calculators contradict each other widely, a sign that none came from the regulator.
The dependable way to see a price before you ride is the estimate the Careem app shows before you confirm a Fujairah Taxi booking. Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi do publish their tariffs, and our UAE taxi fare guide sets them side by side if you want a yardstick for the meter.
How Much Is a Taxi From Fujairah to Sharjah?
No one publishes a fixed Fujairah to Sharjah taxi fare: the run is about 110 km to central Sharjah and about 95 km to Sharjah International Airport, and the price is whatever the meter or the app estimate comes to. On a clear road it takes roughly an hour and a quarter. Check the Careem estimate for your exact pickup and drop-off, or ask a rank driver for the expected total before the car moves.
The fixed-price option is the bus. SRTA line 116 G runs from Al Jubail station in Sharjah to the Choithrams stop in Fujairah for AED 30 in about two hours, roughly hourly from 6am, last departure 10:30pm. Northbound, line 116 R leaves Khor Fakkan about hourly from 9am to 11pm, calls at Choithrams in Fujairah some 47 minutes later and continues to Sharjah Airport and Al Jubail; the full ticket is AED 30. Check the SRTA intercity schedule on the day. In Sharjah, the city's own cabs take over, and their booking line is on our Sharjah taxi number page.
How Far Is Fujairah City From Khor Fakkan, Kalba, Dibba and Al Aqah?
Most east coast hops are short, Kalba about 9 km and Khor Fakkan about 28 km from the city centre, but three of the towns on this coast belong to Sharjah, and that changes which taxi line you call.
| From Fujairah City to | Road distance | Local taxis |
|---|---|---|
| Fujairah International Airport | about 4 km | Fujairah (Platinum rank) |
| Kalba | about 9 km | Sharjah (SRTA) |
| Khor Fakkan | about 28 km | Sharjah (SRTA) |
| Masafi junction | about 32 km | Inland junction |
| Al Aqah beach hotels | about 45 km | Fujairah |
| Dibba Al Fujairah | about 68 km | Fujairah (Dibba Al Hisn: Sharjah) |
| Sharjah (Al Jubail) | about 110 km | Sharjah (SRTA) |
| Dubai (Deira) | about 115 km | Dubai (RTA) |
| Abu Dhabi | about 265 km | Abu Dhabi |
Distances are approximate road figures from the city centre and will vary with your exact address. In Kalba, Khor Fakkan and Dibba Al Hisn the cabs are Sharjah's, so complaints and lost items there go to the SRTA line rather than to Platinum. A bus also links two of these towns: the 116 R between Khor Fakkan and Choithrams in Fujairah costs AED 15 and takes about 47 minutes.
Fujairah to Dubai: Taxi or the E700 Bus?
A taxi is quicker door to door, while RTA's E700 bus is the fixed-price choice at AED 30 and about two hours each way. What a taxi costs on this run, and why drivers quote a flat figure, is in our Dubai to Fujairah taxi fare guide. The direct road into Fujairah City across the Hajar range is the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road, a tunnelled highway that Gulf News called Highway 84 when it opened in 2011.
Since 30 August 2024 the E700 has started from Etisalat Bus Station, beside the e& Metro Station on the Green Line, rather than Union. RTA's Wojhati planner shows a bus about every 100 minutes: from Dubai the first leaves at 7:30am and the last at 10:30pm, and from Fujairah Bus Station the first goes at 5am and the last at 8pm. Check the planner on the day, as timings move.
The return leg is awkward for a legal reason. Dubai's Executive Council Resolution No. 20 of 2021 bans carrying paying passengers in cars not licensed in Dubai, so a Fujairah cab can drop you in the city but cannot pick up a fare there for the drive home.
Is There a Taxi at Fujairah International Airport?
Yes. Platinum taxis are available outside the terminal 24 hours a day, the airport publishes an AED 11 starting fare, and the city centre is about 4 km away.
Plan around the timetable. The airport's flight boards for September and October 2026 show essentially one scheduled passenger service a day, IndiGo from Mumbai landing at about 11:35pm and returning shortly after midnight, plus occasional IndiGo and SpiceJet flights to Kerala. A rank built around that rhythm can thin out if you land on a delayed or unscheduled flight.
For the trip out, the airport's website lists a free evening shuttle from fixed pickup points in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Dibba, timed for the midnight Mumbai departure. Times and registration are on the airport site, and since we could not open the registration page, confirm a seat before you rely on it.
Lost Property and Complaints in a Fujairah Taxi
Start with the operator: for a Platinum cab, call 09 222 5455 with the date and time of the ride, the taxi number or the driver's name, and a description of the item. Platinum says drivers hand found items to its lost and found department and that the receipt is the easiest way to identify the car, so ask for one. The Fujairah office opens Sunday to Thursday from 7:30am to 4:30pm, with a shorter Friday.
For a Careem booking, open that trip in the app's help section, where the driver and plate are already attached. For something left in the terminal, ring the airport on +971 9 222 6222. In Kalba, Khor Fakkan or Dibba Al Hisn, the SRTA line 600 52 52 52 takes complaints and lost property reports.
When a Pre-Booked Driver Makes More Sense
A car arranged in advance is worth it when the timing cannot slip: a landing at FJR after the rank has emptied, a pre-dawn checkout from an Al Aqah resort for a flight at DXB, or a full day on the east coast with a driver who waits between stops.
Gulf Chauffeur drives between Dubai and Fujairah, Al Aqah, Dibba and Khor Fakkan, with the car, the driver and a fixed price confirmed on WhatsApp before you travel. Our page on the Dubai to Fujairah day trip with a driver explains how the waiting day is arranged.

Common Questions
Fujairah Taxi FAQ
What is the Fujairah taxi number?
The Fujairah Transport Corporation publishes no single dispatch number, so save the franchise's own line: Platinum Taxi Fujairah on 09 222 5455, or +971 9 222 5455 from a foreign phone. Fujairah International Airport prints the same number on its taxi page. If you would rather not call, the Fujairah Taxi option in the Careem app books the same local fleet and shows a fare estimate first.
Is Cars Taxi still operating in Fujairah?
We could not confirm that it is. Khaleej Times reported in 2007 that Cars Company, then managed by Ahmed Al Ghurair, was launching Fujairah's new taxi fleet, and that business now trades as Kabi in Dubai. In October 2026 neither Al Ghurair nor Kabi lists a Fujairah service or phone line, and the airport's taxi page names only Platinum Taxi.
How do I book a taxi in Fujairah?
Open the Careem app and choose Fujairah Taxi, the option Hala added in November 2025 with the Fujairah Transport Corporation. Enter pickup and destination, read the fare estimate, then confirm and pay by cash, card, Careem Pay or Apple Pay. Otherwise, phone Platinum Taxi on 09 222 5455 or use the rank at Fujairah International Airport, where taxis wait around the clock.
How much is a taxi from Fujairah to Sharjah?
No authority publishes a fixed fare for this run. It is about 110 km to central Sharjah and about 95 km to Sharjah International Airport, so you pay what the meter or the Careem estimate shows for your exact trip. For a fixed price, Sharjah's bus line 116 G links Al Jubail station with Choithrams in Fujairah for AED 30, in about two hours, roughly once an hour.
How much is a taxi from Fujairah airport?
Fujairah International Airport publishes a starting fare of AED 11 for taxis leaving the terminal, and the meter runs from there; the city centre is about 4 km away. The cars belong to Platinum Taxi, the franchise appointed by the Fujairah Transport Corporation. The rank is busiest around the nightly IndiGo arrival from Mumbai just before midnight, so on a delayed or unscheduled flight, a pre-booked car saves the wait.
Can a Fujairah taxi pick me up in Dubai for the trip back?
No. Dubai's Executive Council Resolution No. 20 of 2021 forbids carrying paying passengers in cars that are not licensed in Dubai, so a Fujairah cab may drop you in the city but cannot take a new fare there. For the journey back to the east coast, use a Dubai taxi, the RTA bus E700 from Etisalat Bus Station (AED 30, about two hours), or a car arranged in advance.
